Euro B tableting tools have long been established on the market and are therefore widely used in tablet production. With the standard head geometry, the possibilities for boosting productivity, e.g. by increasing the machine speed, are unfortunately very limited. On the one hand, the shorter dwell time would reduce the pressing force, but on the other hand, wear would increase and there would be a risk of damage to the tool head.
We have therefore developed an optimized head geometry that enables higher speeds and therefore a higher output without the familiar disadvantages.
The head geometry in detail
1. Enlargement of the standard plane surface by 20%. Longer dwell time, higher press speed possible.
2. Smoother transition from the head radius to the plane surface. Stress concentrations in problematic areas are avoided and damage to heads is prevented.
Also available for Euro D and NO12 punches.
Advantages of NOTTER N-EU Be (compared to Euro B): suitable for Euro B turrets, longer dwell time, higher load capacity, optimum pressing force, particularly smooth running, higher speed, can be used cost-effectively as an unguided tool
In tablet production, punches with a diameter of 12 mm offer advantages when it comes to high output: more stations per turret, and controlled pressing forces.
However, the small stem diameter combined with the conventional head geometries also present greater risks: high bending forces at the head transition and an increased risk of breakage.
A reliable increase in productivity: NO12
The NO12 tablet punch offers all the advantages of a 12-mm punch without the design-related disadvantages of conventional solutions. Its optimized head geometry significantly reduces the bending forces and thus minimizes the risk of breakage. In addition, the new head geometry behaves better under pressure, thus extending the service life.
Once the customer had opted for the NOTURA® Disc, this solution was implemented by the NOTTER application consultant and precisely optimized for the process. The punch set provided 2 years of problem-free operation before it needed replacing for the first time. This led to enormous cost savings, as in the past, when using punches with a standard B head profile, the entire punch set would have to be replaced four times during this period.
